Mommy’s Guide intro

I’m so excited because this is my first blog ever! I can not lie I am a little nervous to put down my thoughts and feelings and send them out to the world. I am nervous that I will be judged for my views and opening myself up for criticism. It’s a scary thing to put down what you really think but that is why I am creating this blog and podcast. So here we go…

My name is Denise and I am separated soon to be divorced in my mid-forties with two children. I have a little boy who is nine and a little girl who is seven. For the past fifteen years I have owned my consulting business. I have been separated for three years and it’s important to me that no matter how hard it’s been that something good comes out of it. I have been thinking about what to do for a while. What is the best way to use what I have been through and make it into something I can learn from. I have been working on a book that talks about how we all go through difficult times but we can find the light behind it.

Is this blog and podcast for you? Yes, if the answer is you want to hear real moms talk about real experiences with parenting, marriage, divorce and most importantly drinks with girlfriends. We are going to find the fun in all of our challenging times.

I was inspired to get out of my own way and not let fear get the better of me because of a book I’m reading. The book is Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis. It is wonderful and I highly recommend it for anyone that is thinking about doing anything and is making excuses as to why they shouldn’t. I am so far out of my comfort zone writing this but I wasn’t going to let that stop me. As you will see if you continue to read my blog and I hope you do that I am not a writer. However, I can promise you that I will always be honest with my feelings.

Thank you for taking this journey with me.
